Your drive records
Calm Drive stores your profile, vehicle details, reviews, scores, sensor evidence and retained trip history locally on your iPhone. The current app does not use a custom cloud account to sync family records.
Choose what stays
Route settings let you keep the route locally, keep events without coordinates, or remove the route after analysis and keep the final summary. These choices control app retention; they do not delete files you previously exported or copies kept by someone you shared with.
Location and motion
An active drive uses iPhone motion and location signals to estimate smoothness, distance and course. Background location supports a session while another app is open. The app also offers a GPS and permission check in Diagnostics. You control permissions in iOS Settings.
Optional road matching
Plus road-awareness monitoring is off by default. When enabled and a service is configured, it sends a short recent GPS trace to that provider to identify the road and mapped speed limit. The request does not include your name or review text, but location is still sensitive. Production service availability and provider retention details must be confirmed before release.
Apple services
Map display and place-name lookups use Apple services. StoreKit handles subscriptions; Game Center can receive achievements and consistency points when authenticated. Widgets and the CarPlay companion use a local App Group. TestFlight handles beta distribution and its own testing data under Apple’s terms.
Exports are your choice
The app does not automatically attach diagnostics to feedback. Diagnostic exports remove coordinates, but may retain trip times, place names and text entered in your review. Check a file before sharing it. PDF and CSV practice reports are available with Plus.
Sponsors and tracking
The current app includes local sponsor placeholders on parked screens; no production advertising network is connected. Driving behavior, route coordinates, sensor samples and review answers are not provided to advertisers. This website uses Plausible analytics, served from stat.alta.nz, to measure page visits. Browser requests share standard request data with the analytics service and website host. The website does not send your app’s driving records, route coordinates or review text to this service. Your site color and motion preferences may be saved in localStorage. Fonts are served from this website.
Delete or ask
Delete a drive or all local app data from Settings. Reset settings is a separate action. Exported files and Apple-managed records are controlled separately. For questions, use the support link below.
